Back Up with Peak Support

As a professional, you know the importance of keeping your data, financial information, and administrative materials safe. Yet the critical task of data backup can be an expensive and challenging endeavor as organisational data continues to grow. You don't have time for backup solutions that take months to set up, require regular maintenance and potentially hundreds or thousands of pounds in hardware and software costs to implement.

Why Should I Consider Online Backup?

Ditch the tape with automatic scheduled backups. No need to worry about putting in those pesky tapes anymore, with our automated backup solution multiple schedules can be defined and carried out without any intervention from you.
Rest assured, your data is secure All data is locally encrypted using 448-bit encryption before it is uploaded and then is sent over an encrypted 128-bit connection for safe storage.
Open file support. We've all done it, left that excel forecast open and the backup skips that much needed file. No need to worry, all files open or closed are backed up with snapshot technology.
It won't break the bank. With Peak Support Services' online backup protection systems, there's no capital expenditure, very little upfront costs, and minimal administrative overhead to maintain.

Peak Support Services' new online backup solution, saves you time and money with simple, secure, and affordable backup solutions that allow you to focus on your business' future. Simply email info@peaksupport.co.uk or call 01629 582128 to speak to one of our specialists.

Thanks to the 35+ local businesses who attended our inaugural Peak Support Open Day earlier today. We were delighted with the turn-out and the interest in Peak Support and especially Windows 7. It was a great opportunity to meet some of the networking contacts away from the breakfast meetings that we normally attend, and for some of our customers to discover where we work and a bit more about what we do. Here’s what the attendees had to say about the event: “Excellent presentation on Windows 7 and a good opportunity for networking with other local businesses.” Alison Rayner, Director, Initial Design “[Local businesses] require more events like this to bring Directors together to promote their businesses. Growth through referrals is paramount to the development of any business.” Alan Ward, Director, Business for Breakfast “We made some very useful contacts with both visitors and other exhibitors.” Harry Bourchier, Director, Coates and Partners “A most enjoyable event.” Ian Mcqueen, Director, Bullitt Display We hope that today’s event strengthened the ties between local businesses, and we look forward to working with some of the new connections we’ve made during the day. Thanks especially go to Business for Breakfast for laying on the food and to Kris for organising the event - well done, chaps.

This month’s meeting was a Microsoft take-over, with Jamie Burgess, Dell Quinn and Gareth Hall providing insights into Windows 7 and the forthcoming Microsoft Partner Network. Jamie kicked off the evening with a high-level overview of key Windows 7 features, particularly focussing on business technologies like DirectAccess, BranchCache and AppLocker. The presentation was rounded off by an explanation of MDOP benefits, including App-V and MED-V with a brief demonstration of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). After the break, we were introduced to Dell Quinn, recently appointed SBSC lead for the UK. Her discussion focussed on the Microsoft Partner Network, due to replace the Microsoft Partner Programme in 2010. Advice was given around transitioning from the familiar Cert/Gold Cert/Blue Badge brands to the new competency-focussed levels, followed by a projection of support for SBSC partners in FY10. While it was clear that there are still a few kinks to be ironed out with the new Partner structure, Dell provided useful and fair responses to the ‘barrage’ of questions levelled at her. Many of the members will now be looking forward to the Microsoft Partner Network 2009 event at Wembley stadium next month. I’ll be there representing Peak Support - hope to see you there!

Out of all the components of Small Business Server, one of the most underused and misunderstood features is Windows SharePoint Services (aka CompanyWeb). In environments where team-working and file sharing is important, SharePoint can be a massive benefit to productivity. We rely on it internally at Peak Support, and many of our customers now use it as an integral part of their system. In fact, we deliver more training on SharePoint than any other single product we offer.

For those who haven’t been introduced to the world of SharePoint, here’s a brief video to explain what it’s all about - in plain English!

Last night’s AMITPRO meeting saw a presentation from James Cole and Andy Dreier from Security IP. The Oxford-based company provides niche security solutions to IT resellers in the UK. Although they resell a wide range of security products, their focus last night was on
Interguard suite and DataGuard.

Interguard is a collection of three complimentary products, designed as answer to internal security threats and includes the following: Sonar - monitoring and reporting of all employee computer activity on or off the corporate network Datalock - provides protection for IP, trade secrets and confidential data Laptop Cop - track and recover stolen laptops (or data) The second part of the presentation featured DataGuard. This is an encryption solution aimed at home and small business users. Essentially a stripped down version of apSec’s fideAS file Enterprise product, the product handles full volume encryption as well as folder/USB memory stick protection. More information on both products can be found at Security IP’s web site: http://www.securityip.com Thanks to both James and Andy for bringing these excellent products and solutions to the attention of the group.
